MotoX1 Warranty

Warranty & Consumer Rights

At MotoX1, we want you to purchase with confidence. This page explains how faults, warranty claims and your statutory consumer rights are handled.

Your statutory rights are not affected.

Any manufacturer or MotoX1 warranty offered with a product is in addition to your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Your Legal Rights

Products supplied by MotoX1 must be of satisfactory quality, fit for their intended purpose and as described.

If a product does not meet these requirements, you may be entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Faults Within 30 Days

If your product is faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose when supplied, you may have the short-term right to reject the product within 30 days of delivery and request a refund.

We may ask you to provide proof of purchase and information, photographs, videos or other reasonable evidence of the reported fault so that we can assess your claim.

Faults After 30 Days

If a qualifying fault is identified after the initial 30-day period, you will normally be entitled to request a repair or replacement.

MotoX1 is entitled to provide the appropriate remedy in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. A requested repair or replacement may not be available where it is impossible or disproportionate compared with the alternative remedy.

Any repair or replacement will be carried out within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to the customer.

Faults Within the First 6 Months

Where a fault becomes apparent within six months of delivery, consumer law will generally presume that the fault was present when the product was supplied unless MotoX1 can demonstrate otherwise.

This does not cover faults or damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, neglect, unauthorised modification, incorrect maintenance or normal wear and tear.

After 6 Months

Consumer rights may continue after six months. However, the customer may be required to demonstrate that the fault existed, or arose from an underlying defect which was present, at the time the product was supplied.

If a Repair or Replacement Is Unsuccessful

If a repair or replacement is unsuccessful, cannot reasonably be provided, or is not completed within a reasonable time without significant inconvenience, you may be entitled to a price reduction or the final right to reject the product, subject to the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

What Is Not Covered

Unless the fault was present when supplied, MotoX1 is not responsible for faults or damage caused by:

  • Accidental or impact damage
  • Misuse or abuse of the product
  • Use outside the manufacturer's intended purpose
  • Incorrect assembly or maintenance by the customer
  • Unauthorised modifications or performance alterations
  • Water damage where the product is not designed for such exposure
  • Failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Consumable or service items worn through normal use

Wear & Tear Items

Parts that naturally wear through normal use are not automatically considered faulty simply because they require replacement.

Depending on the product, these may include items such as tyres, inner tubes, brake pads, chains, sprockets, grips and other service or consumable components.

However, if a wear item itself was defective when supplied, your statutory rights still apply.

Inspection of Faulty Products

We may need to inspect, test or diagnose a product before confirming the appropriate remedy.

Where the issue is covered by your statutory rights, MotoX1 will bear the necessary costs associated with providing the required repair or replacement, including necessary postage where applicable.

Please note: A warranty is separate from your statutory rights. Expiry of a manufacturer or retailer warranty does not automatically mean that you have no rights if a product was inherently faulty.

Making a Claim

To report a fault, please contact MotoX1 with:

  • Your full name
  • Order number or proof of purchase
  • The product concerned
  • A clear description of the fault
  • Photos or video showing the issue where reasonably possible
